(Sorry about the blurry pictures guys!!!)
If I had the choice, I would wear plaid everyday. For everything. I don’t know where my fascination with plaid stems from, other than it reminds me of my dream man: the Brawny paper towel guy. Nah, just kidding. Kind of.
Anyways, as soon as my younger brother tossed this awesome plaid shirt in the Goodwill pile, I knew I had to snatch it up and do something with it. And rainy Sundays make me so darn
I followed this tutorial (loosely), but all is it really is this: find a huge shirt you love (mine was an XL). Take a shirt from your closet that you want to mimic — I took a plaid shirt I already had that fits me perfectly. I also wanted to put in “duck tails”…you know, when the back is longer than the front. Lay it on top and trace the shape, leaving about a 1/2” for seams. Cut it out and sew, then serge/zigzag your seams and THAT’S IT! You can even add different buttons, embroider, embellish, whatever your heart desires.
Now my brother is jealous. I have a new plaid shirt. All is right with the world.
What kind of projects do you guys like to do on rainy days?
